Working principle and functional characteristics of J1939 cable

The J1939 protocol is an extension of the CAN (Controller Area Network) communication protocol, mainly used for communication between electronic control units (ECUs) of commercial vehicles and heavy machinery equipment. J1939 cable, as the physical carrier of this communication protocol, is responsible for transmitting data messages in the vehicle network.

J1939 cable adopts a twisted pair structure with a shielding layer to improve the anti-interference ability of communication. Its communication speed is usually 250Kbps or 500Kbps, which can meet the real-time data requirements of vehicle networks. During communication, J1939 cables transmit signals through differential voltage to ensure data stability and reliability.

Standardized Communication: The J1939 protocol defines standardized communication protocols and data formats, enabling vehicles and devices from different manufacturers to interconnect on the same network. This greatly reduces the difficulty and cost of vehicle network integration.

Efficient data transmission: J1939 cable supports broadcasting and point-to-point communication methods, which can meet the needs of different application scenarios. At the same time, the protocol stipulates the disassembly, reassembly, and connection management mechanism of data, which improves communication efficiency.

Fault diagnosis capability: The J1939 protocol provides rich fault diagnosis functions, which can monitor the fault situation in the vehicle network in real time and perform fault alarm and diagnosis through diagnostic messages.

Scalability: The J1939 protocol adopts a layered structure, which helps manage complex communication systems. Meanwhile, the protocol itself has good scalability and can adapt to the development needs of future vehicle networks.
