Cleaning and maintenance of J1939 cable
(1) Cleaning cycle
Regularly clean the cables according to the environmental conditions they are in. In environments with high levels of dust and oil pollution, it is recommended to clean them every two weeks; In a relatively clean environment, cleaning once a month is sufficient.
(2) Cleaning methods
Preparation: Choose appropriate cleaning tools and cleaning agents. Cleaning tools can be clean, soft cloths or brushes; Neutral and non corrosive products should be used as cleaning agents, and organic solvents such as alcohol and acetone should be avoided to prevent damage to the outer sheath and insulation layer of the cable.
Cleaning process
Surface cleaning: Dip a clean cloth in an appropriate amount of cleaning agent and gently wipe the surface of the cable outer sheath to remove dust, oil stains, and dirt. For stubborn stains, a soft bristled brush can be used to gently scrub, but attention should be paid to the strength to avoid scratching the outer sheath.
Cleaning of connection parts: For cable connectors, use a small brush or cotton swab dipped in cleaning agent to carefully clean the pins and sockets of the connector, remove the oxide layer and dirt. After cleaning, wipe the connector dry with a clean cloth.
Drying treatment: After cleaning, ensure that the cable is completely dry. You can use a clean cloth to dry the moisture on the surface of the cable, or let the cable air dry naturally. Avoid connecting and using cables before they are dry.
